Hyca Heat in brief
Hyca Heat builds hybrid process heat for industry. Electric heating and flameless catalytic combustion of natural gas or hydrogen sit in one unit, and software continuously picks the cheaper energy path. The system delivers steam, thermal oil and hot gas, from 0.2 MW per plant.
Hyca Heat is a spin-off of Forschungszentrum Jülich. The company was founded in 2026, is registered in Cologne and works from Jülich and Berlin. Its managing directors are Dr. Simon Hahn, Dr. Richard Büssow and Henning Hatje.
Earlier coverage appeared under the working name “Clean H₂eat”.
